IT'S NOT quite a massive birthday bash, but this is one party that won't easily be forgotten.
An Irish woman who celebrated her 100th birthday earlier this week was treated to a surprise serenade from a talented Garda officer.
Garda Mark used his skills as a saxophonist to regale Kathleen Kavanagh with a unique version of 'For She's A Jolly Good Fellow' from her front garden in Dublin.
A video of the touching moment shows Kathleen dancing around her garden in Dublin 7 as Garda Mark plays the catchy tune, a friend recording her, and another officer standing by to watch the happy scene.
Posting the video to social media, An Garda Síochána wrote:
"Garda Mark of the Garda Band and Garda Shane, Community Policing Cabra Garda Station, called to celebrate the 100th birthday of Kathleen Kavanagh from Dublin 7 yesterday.
"Happy birthday Kathleen!"

The surprise serenade drew praise from people on social media, with many admitting it put a much-needed smile on their face, and the granddaughter of Kathleen Kavanagh thanked the officers "for paying a special tribute to Nanny on her 100th birthday".
"She's loving all the positive comments and well wishes!"
Garda Mark, the saxophonist, is a member of the famous Garda Band, which last year went viral with a heartbreaking rendition of 'Amazing Grace' in tribute to all those who have lost loved ones in the Covid-19 pandemic.
The five members dedicated the piece to everyone who has lost someone to the disease, including two members of the Garda band who lost family members in the days before the performance.
