Van Morrison’s new album Duets: Re-Working The Catalogue does exactly what it says on the tin.
Set for release on March 16, Van’s 35th studio album is 16-track recording of the six-time Grammy winner's back catalogue, sung with Bobby Womack, Steve Winwood, Mark Knopfler, Mavis Staples, Michael Bublé, P.J. Proby, Joss Stone, Mick Hucknall, and Van’s daughter Shana Morrison.
With a deliberate steer away from Morrison’s best known material, the album features a version of Some Peace of Mind with Bobby Womack, Wild Honey with Joss Stone, Streets Of Arklow with Mick Hucknall and Irish Heartbeat with Dire Straits frontman Mark Knopfler.
The album was recorded between Van’s home town of Belfast and London over the last year, and was produced by Morrison along with Don Was and Bob Rock.
