U2 confirmed for Oscars performance as new video released

U2 will perform their Oscar-nominated song Ordinary Love live for the first time at next month's Oscar awards.

The track - recorded for the Nelson Mandela biopic Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom - is nominated for Best Original Song, having scooped the award in the same category at the Golden Globes last month.

Ordinary Love will contest against with Happy from Despicable Me 2Let It Go from Frozen and The Moon Song from Her for the highly sought-after Academy Award.

U2 were previously nominated for an Oscar in 2003 for The Hands That Built America from Gangs of New York.

The ceremony will take place on Sunday 2 March.

Meanwhile, the band have released the video for their latest song, Invisible.

The official video was directed by Mark Romanek and was shot in black and white, in a Santa Monica airport hangar, over three days in January.
