TELEVISON personality and journalist Piers Morgan told Twitter users yesterday that he's Irish - but people were having none of it on social media.
The Good Morning Britain co-host is no stranger to controversy and Irish Twitter users were quick to put him in his place despite his Irish roots.
Morgan, whose father hailed from Galway and who was originally named Piers O'Meara, made the retort in response to a Twitter user who called him a 'smug Englishman' yesterday.
I'm Irish. https://t.co/EkNrhbjtC8

However, his Irish followers were not best pleased, telling Morgan: "No you're not, we disowned you."
Oh God, please no @piers, things are only getting right for us. Can't you claim another heritage other than irish? Just for now?
