The Strypes sign Irish publishing deal

MUCH-hyped Irish band The Strypes have signed a publishing deal with BMG Ireland.

The new deal comes after the Cavan four-piece signed a record deal with Mercury Records UK last December.

They tour Britain next month with dates including a debut festival appearance at Glastonbury.

The teenage rockers have just released a new EP, Hometown Girls, which includes the band's self-penned title track, as well as live recordings of Stormy Monday Blues and CC Rider.

Reports of Strypesmania on a recent tour of Japan followed celebrity endorsements from their live shows, from musicians such as Liam Gallagher, Paul Weller and Elton John.

The Strypes plan to release their full debut album in late September.

An interview with the band will appear in next week's edition of the Irish Post.
