THE MOTHER OF TWO appeared on Saturday's Ray D'Arcy show to tell her heartbreaking story of a delayed cervical cancer diagnosis.
Vicky Phelan appeared on The Ray D'Arcy Show to tell her story of being mistakenly diagnosed of being cervical cancer-free.
The 43-year-old Limerick woman inspired many people when she took the decision to speak out about the cervical diagnosis she received in 2017, 6 years after a 2011 smear test which said she was cancer-free.
An audit carried out by CervicalCheck in 2014 found that her test results were incorrect, however, due to the reported fault of the programme, Miss Phelan wasn't informed of this until September 2017.

Viewers at home were shocked at Miss Phelan's story but also inspired by her courage in not backing down against the programme which reportedly gave her the wrong results.
The paragraph. How to tell the patient but not tell them. My God this is beyond appalling. Vicky Phelan is so eloquent and stoic.

That was one of the most overwhelming interviews I’ve ever watched. Vicky Phelan is an extraordinary woman- after a misdiagnosis & then to be told she’s terminally ill-is spending her time fighting for the women of Ireland. Fighting for truth & justice.

Vicky Phelan persisted. We owe her so much. So courageous and calm in the face of something unimaginable. Thank you.

I’m not surprised the judge said Vicky Phelan was one of the most impressive witnesses he ever saw in court. She is awesome. #RayDarcy #RayDarcyShow
