LEGENDARY rock guitarist Rory Gallagher was honoured at an awards ceremony at Camden’s Roundhouse in London last night.
The late musician was awarded a Tommy Vance Inspiration Award at Classic Rock's 2013 Awards.
Rory’s brother Dónal was on hand to collect the tribute for the best-selling blues-rock guitarist, who died in 1995.
After accepting the award, Dónal said: "Ideally, I would want my brother here to collect the award in person, but I am very grateful to all who fly the Rory flag.
“This is one for the fans," he added.
The latest release from the Gallagher stable is Kickback City - a concept crime thriller album, which was made in collaboration with Scottish writer Ian Rankin, the artist Timothy Truman and Irish-American actor Aidan Quinn.
The work embraces the 'crime noir' aspect of Rory's music, and also includes a Rankin-scripted graphic novella and a narrated audio book .
