RONAN KEATING has thanked everyone who donated to Friday’s star-studded Concert4Cancer, which raised over €450,000 for charity.
The concert, which was broadcast on Virgin Media Ireland this past Friday August 28, featured performances from Gary Barlow, Nathan Carter, Brian Kennedy, Aimée, Kodaline, The Coronas and Riverdance as well as Keating, himself.
Anna Daly hosted proceedings, with all of the money raised during the event going towards the work of the Marie Keating Foundation, a charity set up in memory of Ronan’s late mother, who died from breast cancer in 1998.
Created by the Boyzone star, Marie’s surviving husband Gerry and his other siblings, the charity was first set up to provide advice and support to those battling breast cancer.
In the years since it has expanded to provide information, awareness and support for all forms of cancer and is one of the biggest cancer charities in Ireland.
Relying solely on fundraising and donations for operations, the money generated through the fundraising concert could not have come at a better time, with the Covid-19 pandemic hitting charities hard across the board.

“It’s amazing,” Keating said. “Thank you to everybody that donated.
“There’s a secondary show going out on the Virgin Media Player with a load more performances that we couldn’t put into the main show so keep donating.
“And thank you all so much again!”.
The Marie Keating Foundation has also taken to Twitter to thank the public for their kind donations.
