Video of young Irish boy signing along to George Ezra's 'Shotgun' goes viral

A VIDEO of a young Irish boy signing along to the George Ezra hit Shotgun has proven a hit with social media users.

Three-year-old James McBride from Derry was born with kidney problems, a tracheotomy means he is unable to speak.

As a result, he communicates with his mother and five-year-old sister using the Makaton signing language.

James and his sister have bonded over music, with the young boy signing along to his favourite songs while his older sibling sings.

His special relationship with music was one his mother, Annemarie, was eager to share with friends and family.

So when James’ favourite song, the George Ezra hit Shotgun, came on the radio, she decided to film herself signing along with her young son to the track.

A life-affirming slice of super cuteness, the clip has proven a hit on Twitter, where it’s gone down well with a rafter of Irish celebrities including Derry Girl actress Jamie-Lee O’Donnell.

"Class video, well done to the wee man!" she wrote.

The reaction has not gone unnoticed.

"It has totally spiralled since," Annemarie told the Irish Independent.

"It's amazing. We are so unbelievably proud of James and we are totally overwhelmed by everyone’s response and lovely comments on the posts."

The tweet, originally aimed at Ezra himself, has yet to be seen or acknowledged by the singer/songwriter though, given how brilliant it is, that should only be a matter of time.
