Peter Kay cancels record-breaking UK & Ireland tour due to 'unforeseen family circumstances'

COMEDIAN Peter Kay has canceled his first UK tour in 8 years.

Last month, Peter Kay announced a record-breaking 100 date arena tour.

The Bolton-born comedian announced this afternoon that he has scrapped all 100 dates of his forthcoming Peter Kay Live Arena Tour due to 'unforeseen family circumstances.'

The mammoth tour was due to kick off in Birmingham on Saturday, April 21, 2018, and wrap in Liverpool on March 19, 2019.

However, at 12pm today the 44-year-old confirmed that he's had to pull the plug.

The announcement on his Facebook page read: "Due to unforeseen family circumstances, I deeply regret that I am having to cancel all of my upcoming work projects."

Tickets for the tour sold out instantly when they went on sale in November and further dates were then released at a later date.

The tour included several dates at Dublin's 3 Arena.

The statement revealed that tickets for all tour dates and Dance for Life shows will be refundable at point of purchase.
