INTRODUCING DUBLIN’S Danny DeVito doppelganger. (Try saying that five times fast.)
Golden Globe-winning actor Danny DeVito may have family ties in Ireland but we wonder if he is aware that his ‘twin’ has become a bit of a celebrity in the capital city.
The mysterious character, known only as Danny Dublin DeVito, is a cult figure for those in the know— and now he has even won a competition to become the face of a popular Dublin arcade bar.
The bar, named Token, held a contest to find the new mascot for their arcade’s currency and were blown away by the eager response for the Dublin DeVito to win, with some people even penning lovesick poems for their favourite doppleganger.

They announced the winner on Facebook, confirming:
“The masses have spoken and Danny Dublin Devito’s charming yet mischievous smile will be on the 2nd edition of the Token token.
Based on all the likes, comments, emails and the fact that two people submitted poems we can conclude that he is the people’s choice for the coin.”
Now the bar have a hunt on their hands as they admitted that, despite Dublin DeVito’s huge popularity, they have no idea how to get in touch with him.
“We have no idea who @dannydublindevito actually is, but we will find him, seek his permission, and if everything goes according to plan we will have the launch party in a couple of months once they are manufactured.”
Danny Dublin Devito has his own Instagram page which seems to have been set up by a friend of his who thinks his similarity to the ‘Always Sunny’ star is hilarious. And frankly, we agree with him.
The page is filled with the Danny look-alike doing vaguely Danny Devito-esque things, with particular reference to the real DeVito’s character Frank Reynolds.
It seems the arcade bar managed to track down the Dublin celebrity as the Instagram account’s newest update shows a video of the old Token currency followed by Danny Dublin Devito looking distinctly unimpressed.
His real identity is still unknown, but we’re happy just knowing him as Dublin’s Danny DeVito.
