CHRIS O'Dowd and co-writer Nick Vincent Murphy's Irish comedy series Moone Boy, is heading for a US remake.
Network ABC is planning a US version of the show, according to Deadline.com.
Reports suggest that a pilot for the planned series is to be made, with O'Dowd scripting the new adaptation and Sony Pictures TV producing.
O'Dowd is not set to feature in the US version. He will be the executive producer.
Moone Boy - which won an International Emmy last year - is broadcast on Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) channels.
