THE NEW TV series which tells the story of the FBI investigation into US President Donald Trump has made international waves since it was first announced earlier this year.
The series, titled 'The Comey Rule' stars Irish actor Brendan Gleeson as President Trump, and has been eagerly anticipated since the casting was announced-- particularly in Gleeson's home country.
But while the show debuted on American TV earlier this month, Irish audiences have yet to able to access it-- until now.
The four episodes are now available to watch for a limited time on Sky Atlantic and Now TV, two channels which are widely available in Ireland and which thousands of people previously joined in order to watch 'Game of Thrones'.
The show is set to be immensely popular in Ireland if the US critics' reviews are anything to go by-- American journalist Mark Harris wrote: "Literally do not understand how an actor can get this close to real; it seems to involve about a hundred simultaneous decisions."
Maria Fontoura wrote for Rolling Stone:
"There's a dizzying assault of characters and national security-rocking incidents, but it all hums with the energy of a well-oiled political drama."
Closer to home, The Irish Times journalist Peter Crawley wrote of Gleeson's portrayal:
"Gleeson’s Trump, more growling mafioso than Troll-in-Chief, is amusing and horrifying, like the man himself."
'The Comey Rule' has performed fairly well on Rotten Tomatoes, garnering a 64% approval rating from critics and a 71% score from the public.
If you're planning on watching the much-talked-about show and seeing Gleeson in what is arguably his most challenging role yet, you can check out the trailer for 'The Comey Rule' below.
