The makers of Netflix’s Bird Box have revealed what the film’s monsters look like

IT’S THE Netflix film everyone is talking about and one watched an estimated 45 million times in its first week of release.

But one thing continues to bug fans of the Sandra Bullock blind horror sensation Bird Box: just what did those evil monsters look like?

The film depicts a world where people are killing themselves in a variety of colourful and gruesome ways after looking at an unseen monster.

Director Susanne Bier is careful not to give anything away. Only the shadow of the evil entity is ever shown on the screen.

It’s led to plenty of online speculation alongside a colourful array of humourous Bird Box related memes and one extremely stupid and very dangerous viral challenge.

But now, in a surprise twist to rival the film’s final denouement, fans have been given a glimpse of the movie’s central monsters.

It’s all thanks to sculptor and special effects designer Andy Bergholtz, who worked on the film, and took to Instagram to share several photos of the evil force that causes so many people to violently commit suicide.

So why did we never see the monster in Bird Box?

Howard Berger, who also worked on the sculpture, explained alongside the post:

''It’s always a bit disappointing when so much effort goes into something that ends up in the cutting room floor, but I get it and it’s always what is best for the final product.”

The jury is out as to whether the film would have benefitted from seeing the death-causing demonic force though.

Sometimes in horror less is definitely more.
