Filming for 'Mrs Brown's Boys – D'Movie' begins in Dublin

FILMING has begun for Mrs Brown’s Boys – D’Movie on Moore Street in Dublin.

The movie – based on the IFTA and Bafta winning comedy series starring Brendan O’Carroll - will be shot in Ireland for five weeks before heading to Britain.

The first scenes of the film featured Irish comedian June Rodgers appearing briefly as a stall holder and IFTA-nominated Bachelors walk actor Simon Delaney making a cameo appearance.

Cast members from the TV series are likely to feature, including members of O’Carroll’s real-life family, including his real-life wife Jennifer Gibney as Cathy, his daughter Fiona as Maria, his son Danny as Buster and his sister Eilish as Winnie McGoogan.

The film is directed by Ben Kellett (Badults) who worked on the TV series.

Mrs Brown’s Boys – D’Movie is due to be released in summer 2014, and O’Carroll has said a fourth BBC series may follow production of the movie.

It is a Bocflix, RTÉ, Universal and BBC Films co-production.
