Love/Hate attracts 750,000 British viewers

ALMOST three quarters of a million viewers tuned in to watch hit Irish crime drama Love/Hate’s debut on English TV last night.

Season one of the show aired on Channel 5 at 10pm and attracted viewing figures totaling 738,000.

Last night marked the first time the hugely popular show was broadcast right across Britain having previously been broadcast in Scotland by STV.

Season two, which was broadcast in Ireland in 2011, will also air on Channel 5 with the broadcaster tentatively looking at a January broadcast date.

Reaction to the show had already proved strong on Twitter, although many fans commented on being unable to understand some of the characters' accents.

A fourth season of the show has already wrapped following filming in Dublin earlier this year. It will air on RTÉ in Ireland only this November.
