Love Island's Greg and Amber split after unceremonious dumping via text-- but they're both due on The Late Late Show tonight

WELL THIS is awkward.

The winning couple of this year’s Love Island have split up, with rumours swirling that Limerick man Greg O’Shea dumped on-screen partner Amber Gill over text.

To make matters worse, the pair are due to appear together on RTE’s Late Late show in just a few hours.

Yikes.

The couple met on ITV’s insanely popular reality show and spent just twelve days together before being announced the winners of the £50K cash prize.

Since then the pair have been snapped on dates together in Ireland—Greg brought Amber to the cliffs of Moher and to the All-Ireland hurling final, but he apparently hasn’t been making the effort to visit the Geordie in England.

According to The Sun, Amber was dumped via text out of the blue just hours before she was due to fly to Dublin to see him.

A source said that he is “blaming their busy schedules”—which doesn’t really make sense seeing as their busy schedules coincide tonight when they are both supposed to appear on Ireland’s Late Late Show.

The source went on to say that Amber is devastated by the unceremonious break-up.
“She thought he was a lovely guy, but he’s made his feelings clear over text, which isn’t very sensitive”.

You can say that again.

This awkwardness makes tonight’s Late Late Show set to be one of the most highly anticipated episodes in—well, maybe ever. Aisling Bea, Sinéad O’Connor, Lewis Capaldi and Maura Higgins will join the now split Greg and Amber, so it’s a star-studded line up.

To make things even more unusual, a big talking point on the show is likely to be about the presenter Ryan Tubridy himself—he made headlines recently when it emerged he had saved a baby who was hurtling down an escalator in its pram.

It’s hard to keep track of it all.
