LOUISE MORRISSEY sings country music, pure and uncomplicated, with a voice that is — quite simply — bewitching.
From Bansha in Tipperary, the multi-award winning singer is steeped in traditional and folk music as well as country music, and first found international fame with the Morrisseys Folk Group.
Her top-drawer vocals and stage presence soon led to her fronting her own band, and mega success followed in inevitable fashion.
Today most of Louise's shows are collaborations with the wonderful Ryan Turner Band featuring Ryan as musical director, piano and accordion player, Joe McNamee on pedal steel guitar and lead guitar and John Doherty on drums.
Louise, who has played alongside some of country music’s A-listers including Billy Joe Spears, Charley Pride and Kris Kristofferson, will be taking to the stage at The Irish Post Country Music Awards in Armagh on August 30.

Her current single Another Day was written by Nick McCarthy, the musical and lyrical genius behind many of Lousie’s hits over the years, including Tipperary On My Mind, Flying Home to Aherlow and The Night Daniel O'Donnell Came to Town.
Next year will see the lady from Bansha celebrate 30 years on the country music scene, and it would be fair to say that quite a few celebration shows, including some very special guests, have been lined up.
Expect country hoedowns guaranteed to have you stomping your feet or clapping your hands with total abandon, or soulful ballads filled with grace and beauty.
In fact, just like any Louise Morrissey gig.
