Liam Neeson ‘in talks to star in Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam’

LIAM NEESON is reportedly in talks to star alongside Dwayne Johnson in the highly-anticipated superhero movie Black Adam.

According to an exclusive report from Small Screen, the Ballymena born actor is being lined up to appear in the DC Comics film adaptation.

A spin-off from Shazam, the film will centre on Black Adam, an anti-hero boasting powers equal to or possibly strong than Superman.

Johnson has already been cast in the central role with Aldis Hodge set to appear as Carter Hall aka Hawkman and Noah Centineo cast as Al Rothstein or Atom Smasher.

The film is slated for a 2021 release but could yet be pushed back as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Dwayne Johnson offered up a glimpse of what to expect via an animated sneak preview which debuted at the recent DC FanDome.

The Small Screen report suggests Neeson could be being lined up to appear in an as yet undetermined role in the movie.

The report cites the Northern Irish actor’s close working relationship with Black Adam director Jaume Collet-Serra as the chief reason for his possible involvement.

Collet-Serra worked with Neeson on a string of action movies including UnknownNon-StopThe Commuter and Run All Night.

An inside source says the filmmaker is “very keen” on bringing Neeson in an undisclosed role, with speculation already mounting that he could end up playing the film’s primary villain.

Neeson has made something of a habit of turning up in villainous roles in comic book films, having popped up in Batman Begins and, more recently, Men In Black International.

The veteran actor’s involvement would contradict his previous claims that he was done with making superhero movies.

Back in February, he told reporters he had “no desire” to star in another Star Wars or superhero movie.

However, in the months since he has been consistently linked with roles in both.
