Leo Varadkar addresses claims he didn't leave tip after 'free meal' at Kylie Minogue gig

LEO VARADKAR has dismissed the claims made in social media post suggesting he enjoyed a free meal at Kylie Minogue's gig in Dublin and, worse still, did not to tip his waitress.

The Taoiseach was in attendance for the singer's rescheduled concert at the 3Arena on Monday, October 3rd and even posed for a picture alongside the Spinning Around star.

However, a now-deleted Facebook posted widely circulated on social media accused Varadkar, along with "two undercover Gardaí and four other persons", of enjoying a free meal together at the concert but not finding it "in their hearts to tip the waitress."

Varadkar has now moved to dismiss these reports, responding to the claims on Twitter with a thorough rebuttal of the claims made on social media that received mixed response from the public.

"I've been made aware of a post on social media saying I had a free meal at a concert the other night," he said.

"This is not true. There was no meal, we only had drinks and I paid. I have the receipt to prove it too."

In addition, Varadkar's comments, the unnamed person who originally shared the story has since posted a statement accepting it was untrue.

Though not necessarily an apology, the post saw the man explain that while he believed it to be true at the time, he now acknowledges it was false and he was misinformed.

"Just to Clarify I was sent a Story about Leo Varadkar T.D. this morning and shared it in good faith," he said [via Independent.ie].

"It now appears that it was inaccurate and I really should have checked before sharing."

Unfortunately, for Varadkar, his tweet wasn't met with many kind responses.

In fact, most seemed baffled as to why he felt the need to address the posting, pointing to some of the more serious issues he is facing at present.

Others made their feelings clear.
