AN IRISH filmmaker’s poignant short film on emigration has gone viral, receiving more than a quarter of a million views on YouTube just six days after it was uploaded.
The five-minute short, entitled Just Saying, has touched a nerve with a generation of young Irish people who are caught between either leaving friends behind or being left behind in Ireland themselves.
The bittersweet commentary was written and directed by 27-year-old Dubliner Dave Tynan over two days in early December after raising a €1,000 online through the FundIt website.
