Irish presenter Laura Whitmore shares disturbing story of upskirting hell

The Bray native revealed she stopped wearing dresses to avoid paparazzi shooting pictures up her skirt.

Laura Whitmore appeared on ITV's 'Lorraine' to support the upskirting bill to be legislated for in the House of Common.

Theresa May has promised to criminalise the process of 'upskirting', whereby a photo is taken up someone's skirt without their permission.

Ms Whitmore recalled one incident of being upskirted and said she was mortified: "I was outside my house, I had my dog and I had my shopping and I was trying to get out of the car and this guy took a picture up my skirt.

She said the person who took the picture and printed it: "It was printed and I was so embarrassed about it, but at the time I didn't say anything because I thought if I say something on Twitter people will Google that picture and more people will see it."

Since the upskirting incident, the 33-year-old has said that now she crawls out of cars to avoid paparazzi taking pictures up her skirt or dress: "Sometimes I'm in the back of a taxi with my friend and I'll see photographers and I'll get out, I'm down on my knees almost.

"I just don't want them to get a picture of my pants. It's mad," she added.
