IRISH mammies are rarely stuck for words especially when it comes to putting their children firmly in their place.
And this Dublin mother is no exception, after she doled out a Tony Soprano-level response to her son.
Rita McGinn, from Tallaght in west Dublin is currently on a trip to New York with her husband and some friends to celebrate her birthday and also their 40th wedding anniversary.
While taking in the Big Apple, her husband gave her a gift of her first smartphone.
Her son, Dave McGinn, promptly added her to the WhatsApp message group that the family of six use to share family pictures.
According to Mrs McGinn's son, she has always been quick-witted.
And her debut Whatsapp message was no exception.
"The whole family has a good sense of humour, and we probably inherited from her," he said.
Son Dave screenshot the message sent by his mother and posted it to Twitter where it has since gone viral with over 1,000 retweets.
Dave said his mother is completely unaware of the tweet and the response to it.
"She's still asleep in New York so I'm hoping she doesn't murder me when she wakes up!" he joked.
Well one thing's for sure, this Mammy is not to be messed with.
