Irish extras needed for Matt Damon and Ben Affleck historical thriller being filmed in Ireland

A NEW movie starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck is to begin filming in Ireland later this year – and they need you.

The Last Duel will tell the story of a pair of friends living in 14th century France who end up engaged in the last legally sanctioned duel in the country’s history.

Ridley Scott is set to direct with Star Wars actor Adam Driver and Killing Eve star Jodie Comer rounding off an impressive cast.

Affleck and Damon have written the script with Nicole Holofcener, based on the book of the same name by Eric Jager.

Filming is set to take place around Dublin, Wicklow, Meath and Tipperary with producers on the hunt for Irish extras to appear in the film.

An advert placed on Open Casting is calling for huge crowds of Irish based Film Extras to attend and apply to be in the film next Friday, February 21 in Dublin City Centre.

"We will be looking to directly employ lots of film extras for huge crowd scenes in the coming months,” the producers said.

“We are holding an Extras Open Casting day next week in Dublin City Centre and, we are trying to put out as much information as possible to attract interested people to apply to take part as an extra.

“It is paid work and the open casting will be open to adults," they added.

To apply, people should come along anytime between 10am and 6pm on Friday, February 21 at Dublin's Liberty Hall.

They are looking for men and women of all shapes and sizes.

Anyone hoping to be cast must live locally to Ireland and have either a work visa or PPS number.

Upon arrival, hopefuls will be asked to fill out an application form.

Producers will also take a photo of each person after they have completed the application.

“Please only attend if you wish to apply, time is limited and we want to give everyone genuinely wishing to apply a chance,” advert asks.

“You will be asked to leave if you are just hanging out with friends.”

“The process will only take about 20 mins when you get into the venue.”

“When we call for work/fittings, notice can sometimes be very short so availability should be
good,” the listing adds.

“Please be prepared and arrive with knowledge of your measurements e.g. your Height, Chest, Dress, Shoe sizes etc. as you will be asked to put all these details on the application form.”
