A STALWART of the Hammersmith Irish community recently chose a special spot to launch his new book The Lark in the Bower Sang Sad Songs.
Tony Horgan was joined by family, friends and supporters at the Augustinian Centre in Hammersmith, earlier this month.
There he gave a one-off talk about the content of his book, which offers a social history through the autobiographical tale of a young boy growing up in Killarney during the 1930s, before boarding the cattle boat from Dun Laoghaire to England.
After many years being involved with the Hammersmith and Fulham Irish Association, the Hammersmith and Fulham Irish Community Forum and St Augustine’s social club, Mr Horgan drew a large crowd at the event.
