A TEN-year-old can lay claim to the ultimate Irish Halloween costume this year - when he appeared as his sister in her Communion dress.
Kyle Hall from Swords in north Dublin had left it late to organise a costume to go to his school's Halloween party, when he came up with the idea.
"He was to dress up for school on the Friday," his older sister Karlann Hall told The Irish Post.
"He had dancing Thursday evening and didn't have time to sort something out to wear, so he asked my mam to go up to the attic and find the dress before I got home from work."
"When I came home from work he was in full dress, gloves and all sitting in the siting room waiting, legs crossed all ladylike and all," she added.
"He thought it would be gas," Ms Hall said. "It's been a long running joke anyway at how over the top my dress was."
Ms Hall said it was the fastest Kyle had ever gotten ready for school.
"He was dying to go and show it off," she said. "His classmates thought it was hilarious and the teachers too."
"I was showing him how much [his picture] has spread and he thinks it's all a bit of craic, he's not one bit embarrassed," she added.
Karlann Hall posted the image to Facebook where it's received almost 1,000 likes so far.
