OASIS... OR BLUR?
Father Ted fans, it's time to test your skills.
The actor behind one of the best one-off characters to ever appear in the channel 4 sitcom Father Ted is hosting a virtual quiz this weekend to celebrate 25 years since the show first aired.
Joe Rooney, who played the iconic Fr Damo in the episode Old Grey Whistle Theft, will be hosting the virtual quiz live from his living room this Saturday night at 8pm Irish time.
The quiz is brilliantly titled 'Is there anything to be said for another quiz?', and if that joke has gone over your head you probably aren't in with a chance of winning-- but sure it'll be a bit of craic all the same.
Rooney will host the quiz live on his Facebook page, and at just €3 a ticket it's a cheap and fun way to spend another evening in lockdown-- and what better way to celebrate Ireland's most beloved TV show turning a quarter of a century old?
Especially since there's plenty of prizes to be won-- but there's no cheating allowed, and that includes using fake hands.
For more information and to buy tickets you can check out the event here.
Best of luck everyone, and here's a tip: If one of the questions is 'what is the best episode of Father Ted?' the answer is indisputably 'Night of the Nearly Dead' with Eoin McLove.
Trust me.
