Foster and Allen book signing at Mulligans Irish bar in Essex

IRISH folk duo Foster and Allen will be signing copies of their new autobiography at Mulligans Irish Bar in Romford on Saturday, October 12.

After All These Years – Our Story is the pair’s first ever autobiography and it will be released through Virgin Books/Random House Group.

It tells the combined life story of Mick Foster and Tony Allen during their early years growing up in rural Ireland in the 1950s and 60s, and their lengthy career that has taken them to the top of the charts.

Mulligans’ manager Julia Cheasty said: “Foster and Allen were part of growing up in Ireland in my youth, and it is a great honour for Mulligans to be hosting this event.”

Foster and Allen initially rose to fame in Ireland with their début single The Rambles of Spring, followed by A Bunch of Thyme, which entered the Irish charts at number one and became Foster and Allen’s first chart topping single.

The release of Maggie also became another mega hit.

Success in Britain arrived a few years later; they broke into the charts in the Top 20 and appeared on popular music show Top of the Pops.

Their popularity soon catapulted and they began performing internationally, touring in Britain, Ireland, America, Canada, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Tasmania.

The pair have released a total of 29 albums and 13 videos/DVDs to date, all of which have entered the British charts, and have achieved global sales in excess of 19 million.

Foster and Allen have had a busy year, and after recently returning from touring Canada they begin a British tour later this month. The end of the year sees them embark on their Irish Christmas Tour.

The book launch will take place at Mulligans, 5 Market Place, Romford between 2-4pm, where fans will get the chance to meet the musical pair.
