THE IRISH ACTOR has expressed his fears for his mother during the trying times over the next few days.
The 58-year-old has spoken out about the low amount of services available to elderly people in snowy conditions.
Mr Cowan took to Twitter to tell of his plight in trying to get carers for his mother.
Snow terrifies me. My mother has dementia and I’m terrified her carers won’t be able to get to her later this week. Rang district nurse, HSE and nursing homes to see if alternative arrangements for care could be made. Nothing can be done. Shocking state of affairs

The actor also confessed he didn't see the bad conditions coming and that he hated snow.
Well that was quick. 5 minutes before this photo I was walking home from the shops. There was no snow. Look at it now, EEK! I hate snow. pic.twitter.com/uJu0hL6mBW

Irish people are being advised to check in with anyone they know living alone or elderly stuck in rural areas during the stormy weather.
