Farewell Yellow Brick Road: Elton John announces new Irish date for his last ever tour

THE LEGENDARY Elton John has added an extra date in Dublin for his farewell tour.

The 'Farewell Yellow Brick Road' tour marks the end of Sir Elton John's 50-year musical career before the 72-year-old retires after the final show.

Fans hoping to see the Lion King composer will now have two final chances to do so before he hangs up the microphone for good.

In addition to his show in Dublin's 3Arena on December 4th, 2020, the singer will now be playing at the same venue on December 5th.

The tour, which began in September 2018, has already brought Sir Elton to Dublin for two shows in the 3Arena in June of this year and will not finish until the end of 2020, by which time he will have played over 300 concerts-- making his farewell anything but an 'Irish Goodbye'.

Rocketman, a film detailing Sir Elton's life was released earlier this year and was a hit with fans and critics alike, grossing a total of $194 million at box offices worldwide.

The first leg of the 'Farewell Yellow Brick Road' tour grossed $125 million and won the singer a Billboard Music Award in the Top Rock Tour Category.

Tickets for Elton John's new Dublin date go on sale next Thursday, October 10th and can be bought in all usual outlets.
