FORMER Conservative cabinet minister Michael Portillo is to present a "challenging and controversial” new RTE documentary film about the Easter Rising.
The Enemy Files will document the story of 1916 from a British perspective, with Portillo aiming to “offer a valuable counterview of the events.”
An RTE spokeswoman told The Irish Post that a release date has not yet been confirmed.
Portillo has previously made a BBC radio series about 1913, the year before the first World War broke out.
In an episode called The Irish Question, he challenges the idea that the Irish rebellion started with the Easter Rising.
The Enemy Files is one of a series of programmes that are due to be released to mark the centenary of the Rising.
These include Rebellion, a five-part drama, which is expected to air in January.
