Ed Sheeran 'heartbroken' after beloved cat Graham dies after being hit by a car

ED SHEERAN is mourning the death of his beloved cat Graham who died after being hit by a car.

The Galway Girl singer took to Instagram to share the sad news of his pet’s passing.

Sheeran posted a picture of Graham alongside a caption that included a broken heart emoji.

His manager’s wife, Liberty Shaw, also shared a picture of the cat on the social media platform.

She had been looking after the cat while Sheeran was on tour and paid tribute to her feline friend in a short message accompanying the image.

“Our lovely little bud Baby Ba Boo aka Graham the Kitten passed away last night after being hit by a car,” she wrote.

“We are absolutely heartbroken. He was such a dude. Funny and clever and best mates with a massive German Shepherd. We are going miss you so much. Thanks for all the fun.”

An avid cat fan, Sheeran has two other cats, Dorito and Calippo, who are both thankfully alive and well.

The news will nevertheless come as a blow to Sheeran, who has cut an increasingly isolated figure since finding worldwide fame and fortune as a musician.

Sheeran lives on a giant Suffolk estate, complete with a recording studio, pub and multiple homes.

Sheeran is rumoured to have cut ties with many of the friends he had before fame, reportedly retaining just five close pals as a result.

However, speaking in an interview with US radio presenter Charlamagne Tha God recorded last month, he admitted his wife Cherry is concerned by his situation.

"Cherry is always trying to get me away from it... this level of self isolation.
"She says it's not healthy to do this.

"I lost the ability to be able to go out to the supermarket and buy a loaf of bread about three years ago – it is just different now."

"I don't even mind talking to people, I have no problem talking to people it's just when people film me and s***.

"It makes me feel weird. It makes me feel like I'm not human.

"What instantly cuts me off is that you're having a moment with them which is so genuine and so nice and then at the end they ask for a picture."
