CHART-TOPPING singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran has donated a signed guitar to the London Irish Centre for their upcoming charity fundraiser.
The popstar, who just won two Brit Awards, will also be on hand at the event to give the lucky prize winner the guitar.
The London Irish Centre provides support, help and advice to the Irish community in the city and are holding the ‘Big Night Out’ event to help raise vital funds to continue their services.
“Ed’s prize has really been the icing on the cake of what’s shaping up to be a very special event,” said Gary Dunne, the centre’s director of arts.
“We anticipate huge interest in this wonderful prize and are deeply grateful to Ed for supporting our work. I’m sure his Irish granny would be very proud.”
Sheeran is not the only Irish musician to support the event – Dubliner Damien Dempsey will donate £1.50 of every ticket to his St Patrick’s Day concert in London to the charity.
Last year was a landmark year for the London Irish Centre, marking 60 years in operation.
The event will be overseen by Irish comedian Jarlath Regan and will feature other prizes such as artworks, signed CDs and sports memorabilia.
The last few tables for this special night are still available – and you can book a place online at londonirishcentre.org.
