Dustin the Turkey voted second worst Eurovision performance ever

DUSTIN THE Turkey's 2008 Eurovision Song Contest performance has been voted the second worst of all time, according to a new survey.

Ireland chose its turkey puppet persona to represent the country with the song Irlande Douze Points.

He received 22 points, and came in 15th out of the 19 acts in the semi-final, meaning he did not earn a place in the final.

Now, in a new survey carried out by Betfair Casino, fans were asked to vote for the greatest and worst performances of all time, with Dustin receiving 9% of votes for the worst Eurovision performance.

This was only topped by UK entry Scooch with their performance of Flying the Flag (For You) in 2007. 13% of those surveyed rated that performance the worst.

Jemini, who represented the UK in 2003 with the song Cry Baby, was voted the third worst of all time, receiving 7% of votes.

ABBA's performance of Waterloo in 1974 was not surprisingly crowned the greatest performance in the competition's history, with almost one in three (31%) choosing the Swedish pop group as their top pick.

Bucks Fizz (15%) placed in second with Making Your Mind Up (UK, 1981), while Finnish rock band Lordi (4%) completed the top three with their performance of Hard Rock Hallelujah (Finland, 2006). Johnny Logan's What's Another Year.

Also among the top eight greatest performances of all time were Celine Dion (4%) and her rendition of Ne Partez Pas Sans for Switzerland in 1988, Conchita Wurst (3%) with Rise Like A Phoenix (Austria, 2014) and Irish entry Jedward (2%) who came in eighth with their performance of Lipstick in 2011.
