THE CAST of Derry Girls are set to make a high-profile reunion this Friday night, and fans who are eagerly awaiting the show have just gotten a taste of what's in store.
This Friday at 8pm, RTÉ will air a special Comic Relief fundraiser which will see some of the country's most high-profile and talented citizens come together to bring a smile and raise much-needed funds for the charity sector.
The charity show boasts an incredible line-up of Irish acts, including Hozier, Aisling Bea, Niall Horan, Dara Ó Briain and the stars of Normal People, Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar Jones.
But the news that a new Derry Girls sketch would be revealed on the show has got fans super hyped up, as it is now close to a year since we've seen anything new from Erin, Clare, Michelle, Orla, and James.
The show's creator, Lisa McGee, shared a photo of the cast rehearsing the new sketch via Zoom, with the image later being retweeted by Galway-born star Nicola Coughlan.

Jamie-Lee O'Donnell (Michelle), Saoirse-Monica Jackson (Erin), Louisa Harland (Orla) and Nicola Coughlan (Clare) can be seen on-screen looking very serious (they are professionals, after all)-- but one appeared to be missing.
"Where's the wee English fella?" one person asked.
McGee cleared this up, replying "Dylan (James) is there lads, he's just not on screen."
The single image, simple as it was, had fans of the sitcom clamouring for more, but for now there's not much known about what the sketch will entail-- we'll just have to wait until tomorrow night to find out.
Two Derry Girls stars already released a short sketch to lift people's spiritst while they were self-isolating together at the start of the lockdown-- you can check that out here.
