Daniel O'Donnell cancels British concerts due to family emergency

DANIEL O'’DONNELL has cancelled four British concerts in order to be with his father-in-law, who has suffered a brain hemorrhage in Tenerife.

**UPDATE: Remainder of British tour cancelled**

Tom Roche is reported to be in a critical condition following a serious accident at his home in the Canary Islands on Sunday.

O’Donnell, 51, immediately cancelled concerts due to take place in Norwich (last night and tonight), Croydon (tomorrow -Tuesday 15) and Eastbourne (Wednesday 16) in order to be with him.

Tom and his wife Marion ran a bar in Tenerife in 1999 where O’Donnell first met their daughter Majella, 53, whom he married in 2002.

News of his father-in-law’s illness comes during a tough year for the couple after Majella was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year.

She has since beaten the disease and is currently continuing treatment for her recovery.

Those with tickets for the cancelled shows have been advised to hold on to them in the event rescheduled dates can be arranged.

John Bultitude, of Norwich Theatre Royal, said: “Our thoughts are with Daniel and his family at this difficult time, and we are sure all his fans will understand his decision.

“We would advise everyone to hang on to their tickets and we will get in touch with them again once we have had a chance to talk to Daniel.”
