COLIN Farrell has joined the cast of the Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
The Dublin actor will take on the role of a New York wizard called Graves in the upcoming film adaption of JK Rowling’s prequel to the Harry Potter series.
Farrell, 39, joins Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Ezra Miller and Alison Sudol who have already been confirmed for the cast.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is the first spin-off from the original series, which spawned seven books and eight films worldwide; the film adaptions grossing a massive $7.7billion at the box office.
The new film is set 70 years before the first Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
Farrell and his co-stars will hit cinemas worldwide on November 18, 2016.
