LAUREN McCRORY, although only 20 years old, is emphatically no stranger to the stage.
The young woman, from Galbally in Co. Tyrone, has been performing since she was a girl.
Both of her parents, Laurence and Nicola, are singers and the McCrory household — near Dungannon — was always filled with music.
From a very early age Lauren was encouraged to sing at a feis or a festival, or even standing in front of the fireplace for any visitor that should happen along!
Lauren’s first major exposure to international country music was at the age of seven when she went to Nashville, Tennessee, to the line dancing world championships with a group of local line dancers who were competing in the event.
Being immersed in country music in its very home, and visiting places such as Elvis Presley’s Graceland and the Grand Ole Opry House, had a formative effect on the young Tyrone woman.

She even performed Down to the River to Pray at the world famous venue, the experience instilling her a desire to pursue a career on the stage.
On August 30, the talented singer will perform at The Irish Post Countyr Music Awards in Armagh.
National recognition of the quality of Lauren’s came in 2012 when she was the winner of Search for a Country Star, which gave her the opportunity to sing alongside the famous Nathan Carter.
Most recently Lauren has made a name for herself on the country scene after battling it out on TG4's hit country music competition Glór Tíre to eventually emerge as winner.
Since then Lauren has recorded her debut album, to be released later in the year.
