CLANNAD fans are in for a big treat next month when Donegal’s legendary Celtic family band release their first studio album with their original line-up since 1989.
Nádúr (Nature) will also be the band’s eagerly awaited first album of new material since 1998’s Grammy-winning Landmarks.
The band is comprised of siblings Moya, Ciaran and Pol Brennan and their twin uncles Noel and Padraig Duggan.
Pol left the band after their 1989 album Past Present but re-joined in 2011 for a special concert at Dublin’s Christ Church Cathedral.
The re-formed line-up has been touring globally now for several months and a more extensive tour is being planned to coincide with the release of Nádúr.
In March next year, Clannad, along with another Irish folk legend, Mary Black, will share the stage on 15 British dates. They will perform both separate sets and together, in what is certain to be a sell-out tour.
Clannad have sold over 15million albums worldwide in a career spanning 40 years, while Mary Black has released 11 studio albums, all of which achieved platinum sales including several hit singles. More details on all this at a later date.
