Best Irish dad joke ever? Dublin man goes viral with brilliant gag

IRISH dad David Cromwell has become the talk of the internet after his inspired version of a classic dad joke went viral online.

A video of the father from Coolock, Dublin delivering his well-rehearsed gag has already amassed over one million views and counting online.

It's also been shared over 15,000 times with David earning plenty of praise from fans on social media for his sense of humour and fine comedic timing.

In the video, which was filmed by his son Pearse, David can be seen pointing at a bird drawn out on a sheet of paper.

He starts by asking his daughter to call out the different parts of the bird he points to before revealing "the magic part" of the gag after rolling the sheet up and placing it on her thumbs.

What follows is comedy gold and very much in the grand tradition of dad jokes from down the years.

The two-minute clip has already attracted plenty in the way of positive comments from followers online.

"Good old corny joke but brilliant couldn't stop laughing," one fan wrote.

"The Dad is so cute, because he thinks it's hilarious but the kids are like 'OMG, what was that?'" another added. "It's a cute Dad joke."
