BIRMINGHAM’S Bob Brolly reveals his latest venture this week at the launch of his new role with Irish TV.
The BBC radio favourite will now head up the new television channel’s Midlands offering – with his first instalment a jam-packed launch show due to be broadcast live from Birmingham’s Irish Centre on Thursday, March 26.
“Irish TV’s Midlands base will open up a whole new audience for Irish TV, as well as ensuring the Irish in this region can become more connected with home by telling their own stories of what’s happening in the Irish scene in the UK and following what’s happening back home in Ireland,” he told The Irish Post this week.
Friday's Birmingham Live launch show marks the start of two new Irish TV programmes scheduled from the Midlands region.
The first, a 12-part series called Brolly and Friends, offers a one-hour chat show with Bob and guests, while the second, a weekly magazine style programme, will be co-presented by owner and editor of the Live 24-Seven magazines Katie McPhilimey.
McPhilimey will be among the guests joining Brolly for the launch show.
Lord Mayor of Birmingham Shafique Shah has also agreed to appear, along with a range of Irish dancers, musicians and community leaders, who will join him for the event.
The show will air from 8-10pm on Sky Channel 191, Freesat 400 on Thursday, March 26.
