AN EXHIBITION of paintings influenced by the work of James Joyce will open today (July 3) in London.
Jumping for Joyce: Contemporary painters revel in the world of James Joyce will run at the Francis Kyle Gallery and will feature the work of a group of 20 contemporary artists.
Each artist has created one of over 100 pieces of work that include photography, ceramics, and the use of media such as oil and watercolour.
All will be displayed in the London gallery and are all influenced by the artistic flair of Irish novelist and Ulysses author Joyce.
The works were gathered over two years and were initially commissioned in 2011.
The focus of the exhibition is Joyce’s love for Dublin, the city in which he was born and raised and the aim of the artists is to convey this passion and his creativity through a visual medium.
The exhibition will run until September 25.
