Ant McPartlin found to be twice over the drink driving limit

TELEVISION presenter Ant McPartlin was arrested for drink-driving on the weekend of March 18th.

The presenter was charged with drink-driving following his arrest on Wednesday the 21st March.

McPartlin had initially been released after questioning following the Sunday afternoon incident.

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said: “A man has been charged following a road traffic collision in Lower Richmond Road, SW14 that occurred on Sunday, 18 March.

"Anthony McPartlin, 42 (18.11.75) of Chiswick has been charged by postal requisition on Wednesday, 21 March with drink-driving.

"He will appear at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on 4 April."

The incident, which occurred in Richmond on Sunday 21st March at about 4 pm, is believed to have involved the presenter’s car and two other vehicles.

A three-year-old girl in one of the other cars was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The newest update to the case has revealed that Mr McPartlin was twice over the drink-drive limit when he crashed.

According to The Mirror. the charge sheet held by Metropolitan Police reads that McPartlin was well over the limit for drink-driving.

Mr McPartlin reportedly held 75mcg of alcohol per 100ml in his breath according to a breathalyser.

At the time of writing, the legal limit is 35 mcg.

The presenter could potentially face jail time and a fine.
