Ant and Dec targeting Roy Keane for upcoming I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!

ANT AND DEC have identified Roy Keane as their primary target for this year's series of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!

The Geordie duo said they couldn't think of a more perfect candidate to plop in the Australian jungle ... or the Welsh countryside, as was the case last year due to Covid-19.

They said the former Ireland international would be ideal because he isn't afraid to speak his mind and "ruffle a few feathers," as we've seen during his career as a TV pundit.

When asked by The Sun who they were eyeing up, Declan Donnelly said: "Roy Keane for me.

"I'd love to see him treat his fellow campmates with the same disdain he treats Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher and Jamie Redknapp.

Ant McPartlin continued: "As much as we love people getting on [during the show] and having fun, we also love a bit of conflict there.

"It's always good to have people that will speak their mind and ruffle a few feathers."

Dec later added that the 49-year-old wouldn't "put up with stupidity" on the show.

Keane has shown a more gentle and stoic side of late, having recently signed up to Instagram (after years of slating footballers for their use of the app) and posting a photo of his dog and his grandson.

Unless you were an Ireland or Manchester United fan, Keane was a rather detestable player throughout his career, partly due to his insufferable brilliance on the pitch, but also due to his ruthlessly aggressive style of play and often viscous approach to anyone standing in his way.

But he's grown into something of a fan favourite over the last few months, particularly since linking up with fellow Sky Sports pundit Micah Richards, who appears to be the only man alive capable of delving into and revealing Keane's more playful side.

Perhaps he'd be a fabulous candidate for the jungle, and after all, who wouldn't want watch him struggle to contain his hard-man persona while neck deep in a coffin full of locusts?
