Amy Huberman hunts down new film role

ACTRESS Amy Huberman is returning from maternity leave after signing up for a role in new movie Ghosthunters: On Icy Trails.

The 34-year-old will take on the role of a receptionist at the Central Ghosthunting Institute (CGI), in what will be her first acting job since giving birth to her and husband Brian O'Driscoll's daughter Sadie.

The film, directed by Tobi Baumann, is an adaptation of Cornelia Funke’s bestselling novel Ghosthunters and the incredibly revolting Ghost.

The acting opportunity will be welcome news for Huberman, after it was announced that her Comedy Central series Threesome will not be re-commissioned.

The IFTA-winner will need to start packing her suitcase as the film, which the Irish Film Board are part-funding, will be shooting across Austria and Germany.

Post-production will take place in Dublin.

Huberman will first be appearing on TV screens in January in season two of Chris O’Dowd’s Moone Boy, in which she plays an eccentric art teacher.

Ghosthunters: On Icy Trails is is due to be released in 2015.
