Alannah Beirne details how photographer offered to help her modelling career in return for sex

ALANNAH BEIRNE has revealed that an established photographer from the world of modelling offered to help her career in the US - provided he was repaid in sexual favours.

Speaking to the Irish Independent, the 24-year-old model described how, two years ago, a photo shoot in America turned sinister after she messaged the photographer involved to arrange a time and place to pick up the finished images.

"He said, 'Well, if I give you these photos, then I need something in return'. Like a sexual favour," Beirne said.

"I was very civil and kind. I mean, this guy had promised to get me in touch with agencies because he said he knows everyone, and he does."

Speaking as part of an in-depth interview, the model admitted the response left her "a little bit sickened and upset".

"I just wanted my photos and for him to do as he promised but, unfortunately with some people in the industry, they want something in return," she said.

She managed to diffuse the situation by telling the photographer she had a boyfriend.
Despite reiterating her desire to pursue a modelling career across the pond, the unidentified man never ended up giving her the finished photos.

Beirne later learned she was not the first young woman to go through this kind of experience with the photographer involved.

After telling the photographer she had a boyfriend and that she just wanted help with launching her career, Beirne felt she had dealt with the situation.

"The only reason some girls get into these agencies is because they [give him] the sexual favours he wants and I was even told his wife knows what he is up to and she just allows it," she told Life.

Beirne now ranks among Ireland's most successful models, having signed with the Andrea Roche model agency.

A Dancing With The Stars contestant in 2018, she's also appeared on Britain's Next Top Model and the Sports Illustrated top 27.
