Irish Micks and Legends Returns to radio

AWARD-WINNING Irish comic Aisling Bea returns to BBC Radio 4 in February for the second series of Irish Micks and Legends.

Teaming up once again with best pal and with Sherlock actress Yasmine Akram, the pair are back with their funny and irreverent take on Ireland's ancient stories.

Nominated for the Chortle Best Radio Comedy in 2013, the show sees Aisling and Yasmine endeavour to explain Irish legends to the British nation.

The only problem is they haven’t done much research, worked out who is doing which parts, how to edit out the chat or how to work the sound desk.

In the first episode, Saint Brigid of the Curragh, Aisling and Yasmine "give props" to Aisling's place of birth with the story of how Brigid became a saint and got land to build her convent in the Curragh of Co. Kildare.

Irish Micks and Legends, BBC Radio 4, starts Wednesday 4 February, 11.00pm-11.15pm.
