Adrenaline junkie Rory McGuinness climbs 60ft scaffold and pulls off double back flip into river in Sussex

APPARENTLY, you don't have to be in the Olympic team to attempt some daredevil diving.

One man who took diving to a new level is Rory McGuinness from Sussex who climbed a 60ft scaffold and back flipped twice before plunging into the river below.

Mr McGuinness, whose father is from Belfast, said he's an "adrenaline junkie" who couldn't resist the challenge.

"I saw the scaffolding and thought to myself that is prime for a big jump into the river, and watching the Olympics put it in my head even more."

The river in the clip is the River Arun, in West Sussex, one of the fastest flowing rivers in Britain.

"I've been swimming in it my whole life," Mr McGuinness told The Irish Post, "even though it is dangerous with a strong current, I know when it's okay to swim in it."

Although the video has had over 265,000 views since it was uploaded, Mr McGuinness thinks this is the last of his adrenaline-fuelled stunts.

"It's probably the last crazy thing I will do. I'm 23, if I hurt myself I'd be useless at my job as a mechanic."
