TRAVELLER, singer and storyteller, Thomas McCarthy releases his second album, Herself and Myself on September 24.
The album will be launched on September 24 with a special launch concert at the Old Queens Head in Islington, north London.
McCarthy has dedicated the new album to his mother, Mary McCarthy, a fine singer who died nearly four years ago, and who influenced McCarthy’s keeping up of the oral tradition of traditional, unaccompanied singing of his Traveller background.
McCarthy was born in Ireland but grew up on the travellers’ site under the Westway and in flats near Ladbroke Grove.
The record will be released by Tin Folk Music.
