THE owner of an Irish racehorse had the best reaction when his horse Heartbreak City took second place at the Melbourne Cup.
Aidan Shiels, a New York publican, was at Flemington Racecourse today, November 1, when the moment was captured on camera by Australia's 7Sport.
Interviewer Neil Kearney was standing by to interview Mr Shiels after the race, however, the racehorse owner erupted with excitement as Heartbreak City crossed the finish line.
'We'll take that boys!' Mr Shiels roared as he hugged co-owners Niall Reilly and Charlie Gavin.
"You've only finished second," Kearney countered, aghast.
"I don't care! I don't care!" We came here, we came second, we would have been happy with last!" Mr Shiels shouted as he bear hugged Kearney.
